Borneo Travel Advisor and Visit Malaysia Year 2014 – part 1

Visit Malaysia Year 2014 (VMY2014) kicked off 13 days ago, I determine to update myself today of the progress of VMY2014. This is important for I am myself one of the many certified HOSTs from Sabah, Borneo. I am given my certification after attending the training seminar organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia on November 26th, 2013 at Berjaya Palace Hotel, Kota Kinabalu. And for your information, the content of my blog is focus on information in Sabah & Sarawak, Borneo.

Attending We are the host course on November 26, 2013 at Berjaya Palace Hotel, Kota Kinabalu

As usual, I started my research via my favorite internet search engine i.e. Google! Let me share with my findings 🙂

The Proboscis Monkey of Sabah has been chosen to be the mascot of this grand celebration event. The Ministry of Tourism and Culture, Malaysia has decided upon one of the most endangered of animals listed in the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)’s Red List of Threatened Species. I think this is such a brilliant idea because our country has commitment to the protection of its ecological treasures and in particular, the conservation of its many indigenous animals provide a platform of opportunity to share with the world its many fascinating creatures that are so often hidden from the general public. Taken from The Star online news published on January 1st, the mascot appeared at LCCT airport Kuala Lumpur, welcoming guests who arrived in Malaysia.

Borneo Travel Advisor: Happy Chinese New Year 2014

It was 11 days ago my friends and I gathered together at BB Cafe, Gaya Street for 2014 new year count down. And, another count down to Chinese Luna New Year that falls on January 31 this year, there are only 20 days to go; how quick time flies!

This is also marked my third year of being Borneo Travel Advisor. It is very emotional to realize, I am still SURVIVING! Although I have been living in constant insecurity  that’s without permanent income, I have been surviving from receiving many helps and supports from my supporters and believers of my dream, I thank you all for helping me to come to this far, thank you! I believe I will become a successful online business mogul one day!

Thank you note…

I am grateful for being able to earn living the way I wanted. The sense of urgency is my fuel to push me to work as much as I could in a day; on the other hand, I always make sure I live up with lifestyle. My less stress developing-entrepreneur-lifestyle by having short breaks in between my daily busy schedule, enjoying good food, exercising with my own way, online chatting with friends and family to stay connected with the society before I could leave my virtual world and spend time with them in the real world etc.

Antelope Lower Canyon discovery vs. Strange Creatures in Borneo

I have just read a post at at that was posted yesterday,  7 December, 2013 about a Reddit user named remizik’s newly discovered spot at Antelope Lower Canyon.

Instantly, I recalled a video on YouTube that was uploaded and published nearly a year ago by Nan Keningau with the title – Strange Creature in Cave.

This video was captured by a British traveler, Matthew Lazenby. This video was also been reported and aired on Malaysia’s TV3 news on the 24 December,  2012.

Matthew described those strange creatures sized from 5 to 15 centimeters. They moved at high speed and they float too.

To Matthew’s personal opinion, he don’t think those strange creatures should be classified as insect because, as he observed and he realized, even bats in the cave were escaped in fear when those strange creatures approached.

From the video clip above, it shows clearly that those strange creatures possess 7 pairs of wings, that makes them even more mysterious. I am hoping to get more information about the phenomena ever since I discovered the video (not the creature lol). I know Malaysia Sabah Wildlife Department started a thorough study to these mysterious and strange creatures that still remain unknown so far.

Borneo Travel advisor: Star Cruise Superstar Aquarius in kota Kinabalu

Star Cruise Superstar Aquarius Standing pax offer

Superstar Aquarius by Star Cruise docked at Sabah Port Kota Kinabalu since September has been the talk of the town. The cruise has definitely injected so much fun to us the citizen. Furthermore, we also have great opportunity to experience cruising on such massive & majestic cruise ship.

For those who plan on ‘backpacking‘ may consider this hot deal offers until the end of the year. It costs only RM100 per person, and I have experienced it myself, it was AWESOME!!

To purchase this ticket, you are to visit Star Cruise office located at KK Times Square, you may refer to the address appeared on the picture on right.

It is fairly easy to find the office. When you are entering the property, look to the right and Star Cruise office is only 1 door away from the corner lot.

From years of backpacking experience, I automatically prepared some light but definitely useful items for my excursion. Let’s see what I brought along with me:

  1. A blanket
  2. Toiletry for refreshing
  3. A few extra T-shirts
  4. My phone which also my camera
  5. Some money

That’s all! I slept on the leisure chair until the morning ray penetrated the sky.

The 25th winners of Padan Liu Burung and Ruran Ulung!

Thank you for ypur blog Benjamin…

His Writing on the Wall

Welcome on board to the new members of the exclusive club!

Gebrial Padan and Pauline Padan (not related though both coincidentally shares the same surname) were crown winners in the respective category at the recent Irau Aco Lun Bawang. Sadly to note, I was unable to make myself present due to work commitments but reading from the Facebook posts and pictures – indeed the 25th anniversary was a glarring success.

There is just so much to write about the Irau itself and how the Lun Bawang natives has developed as a community. There many good things that has transcended in the recent years though many rooms for improvement. I’m going to beat myself up for this because being one of the privilledge Lun Bawang youth, I wasn’t able to contribute myself totally to this. Though this would be a promise for me that one day, I will be back to…

What has Herbalife given to Borneo Travel Advisor?

As I had mentioned in my last post, writing about what I REALIZED I can write when I was taking my shower, You know?!! It was at that particular moment, I suddenly realized 2 things that I didn’t pay attention for so long!

  1. I don’t scratch my head as much…
  2. and I noticed I am not scared of taking shower anymore!

I think I know why… I accepted Herbalife‘s shampoo & shower gel products sponsored by Herbalife Natad Tuwau Limbang a couple of weeks ago.

Itchy head and irritating pricking sensation after shower have been my problems for so long indeed this time I gotta be humble & say thanks to Herbalife for solving 2 of these problems ^_^ you all got to try the products yourselves too ey…

You might think because I am Herbalife member? My answer is NO, I didn’t even wanna get involve in any company that’s related to MLM for I found this is not my cup of tea. but this young entrepreneur took the chances to partner up with me to TRY OUT his products, if it works well, it would be win-win situation to both of us.

I will get FREE products to use and he could reap the fruit of Online Traffic for I am a blogger, I write and that would ensure his name is spreading out as well. Many thanks to you Mr. Titus Udan Lindris ^_^

Possing with my FREE shampoo, hair moisturizer & shower gel

When I use Google search with keyword “itchy head + no lice”, I got these result:

Searches related to itchy head no lice

Small pieces of dead skin in a person’s hair
Seborrhoeic dermatitis (also known as “seborrheic eczema”james, william; berger, timothy; elston, dirk. andrews’ diseases of the skin: clinical dermatology.. saunders. isbn 0721629210. …
A skin disease marked by red, itchy, scaly patches
Condition in which patches of skin become rough and inflamed, with blisters that cause itching and bleeding, sometimes resulting from a reaction to irritation but more typically having no obvious external cause

I am not sure which one is for ME, I just knew I am cured after using the product.

And for keyword “pricking sensation after shower” I got this:

Pricking sensation on the skin after shower or sweat. On allergy injections for bilomia dust treatment. Side effect or water allergy.

Again, I do not have the answer but what I really know is, I don’t have that already after using the shower gel. What say you?
